Beloved, success in life begins with your knees on the ground. Prayer is the greatest weapon God has given us children of God to open any door. The devil cannot pray. But many of us don’t pray.

What is prayer?

Prayer is an act of talking and listening to God.

what is the Biblical meaning of prayer?

According to the scripture, prayer is communicating secretly with God and He will listen and respond to you in open.

when should I pray?

In luke18:1 Jesus spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not faint.

Instead of complaining and crying about a situation, start praying about it and you will see a change.

Start your day with prayers, end it with prayers and get up at midnight and pray. Our God is able to do difficult and hard things if only you take it to him in prayers (Gen 18:14, Jeremiah 32:27).

We are called upon to pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17), which simply means that we should pray at all times.

Can you imagine Life without prayers?

Beloved, please don’t live your life without prayers. Learn to pray always. A life without prayers is a life full of troubles. It there is a man to pray, there is a God to answer (Read Psalms 65:2)

Why is a prayer ineffective?

  1. Praying without repentance:

The scripture says if we that we have not sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). There is no way our prayers can be effective when we refuse making things right with God through prayers,

  1. No thanksgiving and worship
  2. Praying freshly

how to pray effectively

How to pray effectively

How to make daily prayers.

Step 1: Go into Your Room

In Mattt 6:6 Jesus recommended that you go into your room where you’ll pray to your father in secret. This means that christians make a room dedicated for prayers.

This does not mean you can’t pray anywhere. You can pray while traveling, while doing laundry and while learning. He even ask us to pray without ceasing.

Praise and worship

Once you are in the prayer room, always acknowledge God by giving him thanks and adoration. He is God and not man, the Maker of heaven and earth, the First and the Last, and deserves our exaltation. Praise and worship is an effective tool to get the attention from God. when worship goes up, blessings come down.

Step 2: Be humbled

You must humble yourself. It takes humility to pray and go down on your knees. (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Step 3 : Repent

You must repent from any sin (James 4:16). Sin will block your prayers from ascending to heaven.

You must become God’s people by surrendering your life to God. you must confess Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior (if you have not done so).

2 Chronicles 7:14 says “if my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways…………”.take note here “if my people”. You becomes God’s person by surrendering your life to Him.

Step 4: Forgive

Free yourself of all grudges against people. As long as you hold malice against others, your prayer can’t be heard. (Mark 11:25). always free your mind and reap these benefits of forgiveness.

Step 5: Read Scriptures.

The Gospel is what God talks himself, so if you want to take or move God to act on your request,  use his word. Fill your prayers with the Scriptures and you will be amazes at how you can get answered. Why? It is because filling your prayers with scriptures ensures you are inline with God. Scriptural prayer releases Gods power because God respects HIS WORD.

Step 6: Pray and pray and pray

  • Pray from your heart

Your prayer must be heartfelt (James 4:16: effectual prayer). You must pray and feel that you are praying. Let me tell you, prayer is not speaking words. Your heart must be engage. In most prayer meetings, people chew gums, pocket their hands, etc. God must be reverence.

  • Pray in Jesus name (John 14:13)

You must pray through that name JESUS. In John 16:23 and John 16:26, Jesus clearly said it that once you ask the Father in His name (the name of Jesus), it shall be done.

  • Allow the spirit holy to help (Rm 8:26-27, John 14:16-18)

Praying through the direction of the Holy Spirit, for we don’t know how to pray (Romans 8:26). Praying in the spirit is praying in tongues. It is very effective.

  • fill your prayer request with the scriptures

While praying, use the scriptures. let your prayer wordings be back by the word of God because God honours his and the scriptures says He has exalted His word above His name (psalms 138:2)

  • believe that God has answered your prayers
  • Do not doubt. Pray with faith (James 1:5-8)

Effective prayers will bring you results. There are ways you pray and get results.

Whenever you realized that your prayer life is weak, try to build it. “pray without ceasing”.

Let’s us pray for God to give us the grace to remain in prayers always, rather than complaining in Jesus name.

May God bless His word.
